Pirates of Silicon valley

Posted by tggokul on January 17, 2007

I got a chance to watch the mini-series ‘Pirates of Silicon valley” (made for Television) on YouTube and it was pretty impressive. Though the movie was made eight years ago, I saw it only recently. It is set in the 70s and the 80s and talks about the rise of Apple and Microsoft. To be more specific, how Bill screwed Steve.

I have read a little bit about Apple-Microsoft rivalry, Apple-XEROX ‘partnership’ ( more like AppleĀ pilfering XEROX) etc, and this movie offers more insight into the actual happenings at these companies during those times. Very well taken and a very good performance by Noah Wyle ( the dude who acts in ER) as Steve Jobs. ‘Bill Gates’ (Anthony Michael Hall) was good too.

I strongly recommend all of you to see this movie. Youtube has it as 10 clippings. The first one can be viewed here and the links to the other episodes are in the same page.
